I don't care what anyone says or recommends, Stopzilla will thoroughly screw up your computer, as you have already found out. And it's a freaking mess to get rid of. Use this link to contact them for help in getting it off your computer.

I had to threaten to sue them if they didn't tell me how to salvage my computer without reloading Windows. That was several years ago, and it has not gotten any better.

Scan your computer online for free at symantec.com (norton's website) or at mcafee
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/?langid=ie&venid=sym
This will not remove problems, might find them. I would recommend Norton AntiVirus with Antispy and also SpySubtract (that one came with my computer). You have to buy the disc. Might find an older version cheap on ebay.
Click on my computer, C drive, show all files, programs, show all files and see if there is a stopzilla file in there. If so take and delete it.Maybe that will help.
You could also buy Norton Utilities. Sometimes that fixes conflicts in programs.
Here is one review I found on Stopzilla

Have to tried to do a system restore in Safe Mode?

To get into Safe Mode

Reboot
Repeatedly press F8 until the next screen appears.
I think you have to hit enter again.
Now use your arrow keys to chose Safe Mode.
Try a system restore then. It should work then as Safe Mode only allows necessary programs to start.
