I recieved 23 1953 $2 bills. Some Are just Series 1953. Some are Series 1953 A. Some are Series 1953 B. And some are Series 1953 A wit a small star by the serial number. The serial number and treasurey mark are red on all of them. Can anyone tell me anything about these notes? Like why the serial number and treasurey mark are red and not green, what the star means, the different series, etc.? Thank-you.

Take them to a coin and precious metals dealer. Get them appraised so you know what you've got. Then you can decide whether to cash them in or stash them.

It means they're very OLD AND VALUABLE AND SHOULD NOT BE SPENT. Seriously, you've got some pretty valuable $2 bills there, chief. Put them away in a safe place.
