Yep, I found a camera, and it took me a year to find the owner.
On it were the snaps of a family enjoying their first holiday together. They thought they'd never see the photos.

I found a wallet with money in it and and that was returned to the owner.

Also a motor driven model plane, the wind had blown down from a tree.
It had a phone number on it, I gave them a call; and made one little boy very happy to have it back.

If it's not mine, I don't keep it. It's not worth the guilt trip.

Anyway, I have the Chevalier syndrome.
I drag people across the road safely, even if they don't want to go!

I admit, I've found and kept the money I've found. Mobile phones I give to the police, I actually destroyed a mobile phone once, one of my old ones, the battery refused to charge, so I threw the phone out the window!

I found a few things...
a wallet with no money, but I returned to the person because of all the cards.
at my high school graduation I found a lot of money on the floor, and since I needed more drink and was out of cash and this was a private preppie school, I spent it!
found a cell phone last year, it was really nice, I wanted to keep it, but I felt too bad about it...so I did a little digging hoping I wouldnt find the owner, but I did...DOH!

you give it your best shot, if the owner doesnt turn up, it's meant to be yours

that's my 2 cent

Yes. I once found an old ladies purse. Her name / address were enclosed and I returned the purse with a small bunch of flowers and I did decline to accept the reward she offered at the time, Over a period of time I did get to know some members of her family and many years later at the invitation of the family, I attended the old Lady's' funereal. To my surprise I was later to learn I was included as a benefactor in her Will. I say no more in that respect but I do know , honesty is the best policy.

found £35 on the pavement once and kept it, if it had been in a wallet though i would of handed it in. Found a mobile but handed that in.
Personally I would hand things in most of the time because I would like to think if I lost my wallet or mobile somebody would hand them in if they found them. Probably wishful thinking that though.

I found a mobile once. I called the number on there under "Home" and arranged for the person to come pick it up.

When she did she gave me £50 and told me that she was glad to find it as her company had just put £250 credit on it!

Wallet that was soaking wet. Dried everything out and used the 3 dollars to return the wallet.

Wallet again with check book. It had $100.00 bill in it. Mailed it back minus the $100.00

Wallet again with $125.00 cash Mailed it back minus the cash.

Cell phone - Unable to locate the owner as we were traveling. Didn't use it.

Yeah when I was younger, I found a ring outside of Blenheim palace in the gravel, many years ago. It was quite scratched up and old looking, probably not worth much, but all the same I thought I had found the ring of a princess from hundreds of years ago. I kept it because I was a kid and no one thought it was worth anything.
