I'd like to add two things in regards the question of when ignorance becomes racism.
1. If it sound like a duck, looks like a duck and walks likes a duck then it’s a duck. Don’t call it an elephant.
2. Ignorance is not a defense.
Channel 4 has a lot to answer for in regards to CBB. The swines!

Racism is when someone is singled out for abuse solely because of the colour of their skin. Ignorance is when a person doesnt understand about a person of a different culture. Racism in the UK only works if a white person is the abuser - I have never heard of a successful case being heard where black is being racist to white. Racism as such is brought about these days mainly by the PC brigade who have made it impossible for white people to have an opinion where other races are concerned. Disliking a person is NOT racism whatever the colour of the people involved xx

Why is it racism if an Indian persons culture is mocked but not if eg a Scot is called tightfisted or an Irishman is called thick? There are countless jokes using those two examples. Same applies to a lot of different places.
Fed up hearing about how badly treated this nonentity Indian film star is. Shes only playing the racism card to up her own notoriety.

If Jade is a racist then so is shilpa and jermaine. Jermaine said to shilpa that jade and jackiey were 'white trash' and shilpa agreed. yet that doesnt get mentioned. the majority of u ppl who think it is racist arent white. but white ppl get these comments and nothing gets done or said.
Jade is just ignorant and didnt realise that this much fuss would have been caused and rightly so. its all pathetic. so wot if she called her shilpa poppadom. better than being called black trash. imagine the fuss that wud have caused

When things are said and done with full knowledge and intent, to hurt, humiliate or subjugate someone because of their race, religion or creed. Once someone has told you that something is hurtful and offensive,you now know that it is unacceptable. If you continue to do it, then you have stepped over the line into being purposely bigoted.

what jade jo and danielle said and did to shilpa was not just ignorance is was out right racism,because they were attacking her culture and the way she spoke and about the way she was cooking also they deserve to all be delt with in a strong manner for what they have done to shilpa!
