Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi are trying to hang their hats on an issue for attention sake and to increase their clout. In reality,
there is no true Global Warming Model and scientists disagree so much that 17,000 signed a petition against the Kyoto treaty. Unfortunately, pundits in media and education who know little about this, spin it to suit their own opinions. So, its highly debatable whether humans are influencing global warming. Every 11,500 years, the earth goes through a major extinction with a global warming and cooling phase (ice age.) Paleontologists are able to track this through soil samples. We may actually be headed into an ice age because we are coming to the tail end of the current cycle. The problem is that the media and politicians get focussed on a piece of the puzzle and try to simplify this issue. Don't be fooled. There is probably nothing humans can do. Even if we could, there is no way you can control China who is becoming a major world polluter. Humans will need to adapt to climate change. Where I live there are small changes in our weather pattern, but nothing major. A lot of the media is hype to sell newspapers. The only caution is that some past climate changes have been more radical, swinging wildly from hot to cold. Others have brought on instant and severe cold conditions. I know the area that I live used to be buried in hundreds on feet of ice, but temperatures are mild today... Humans will just need to wait and see what mother nature brings and adapt as necessary.

They simply wish to examine it and discuss it to find a solution. it may be there is none. the recent cold storms, oddly enough, show that the problem is real. Global warming is a catch-phrase, not a complete description of the entire phenomena and how it works to change weather patterns. You have to study it more to understand it. But first you have to agree to start with an open mind. This is not a political problem. it is an earth problem. we need old mother earth and its blessings to survive. we need to help protect it in any way we can so we do not all suffer and die. Is that a bad thing to you?
Maybe we will discover that we need more smog to cool the earth. Who knows? The earth cares not a whit for us. We must take care of ourselves and prevent nature from killing us. that is the age-old battle. The planet will go on with or without people. It has done it before. We humans are like an infection and we must not kill our host or damge our own environment we need to live. That is suicide. I am not worried about the planet. I am worried about mankind. I like clean water and mild weather and good air to breath. Am I a freak? We need mother earth. She does NOT need us.
YES it may be a natural cycle for earth to destroy mankind every few thousand years or so. Should we not fight against it? Must we just give up and let anthing happen? Mankind has always sought to harness and control nature to improve his lot in life. If we can predict and change damaging natural weather cycles with our behavior, why not study it and try it?
This is NOT political. it is life or death.

That's all they ever talk about, Global Warming Global Warming, omg we're all gonna die, we have to stop it.

Well you and no one else, not even everyone on earth together can stop global warming because the Earth does it to itself. It's a proven fact that we affect global warming by less than 2%.

If these two would keep their mouths shut along with the other politicians then there would be much less hot air to melt the ice.
