I am not talking about business people and special cases like that. I am talking about just the average american citizen is not allowed to immigrate to the U.K. , yet a majority of my ancestors were British. IS that not strange that u.k. lets everybody else move there legally , but not somebody with british ancestry living in the States?

Blame your ancestors for having the gall to rebel against the Crown. People from Commonwealth nations and territories (e.g. loyal colonials) have a much easier time emigrating than nationals from rebellious former colonies.

It's unfair, but what you can do, is use the loop-hole, marry someone from Britain and then move over here, the immigration officals will have no option but to let you in! That's one way you can do it! But I suggest you marry in Canada, its legal for americans to marry there, and it's legal for British peopel to marry there, so in the eyes of the law in both countries it would be legal!

WOW! What a stupid, uneducated question. MOST immigrants coming to America come from Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and China. Only an extreme minority are coming in from Europe since there are limits against whites. Try reading a book on the subject.

Its a two way street (pun intended) a UK citizen has great difficulty in getting into USA to live.

I do agree that we really need to close our borders and sort ourselves out before accepting any more immigrants, legal or otherwise.

Its a case of tit for tat. The americans have made it nearly impossible for the british to imigrate to the USA so in return our government has decided to tighten the strings for them comming to britain. It is mainly due to the USA being so much bigger than Britain. Due to our size we are limited as to how many people coming into the country so we have to limit it to those fleeing in fear of their life rather than just those who fancy a change of scenery.

It's because the USA is not part of the Commonwealth. They have special migration benefits for people from it's previous colonies and who are still part of the Commonwealth.
