I think both are related, and can't be brutally separated. However, let us consider this case.

Let us say in a not-so-liberal country, a film was banned because "it jeopardise national security" (sorry for my lame English),"it depicts explicit sexual images"......... and everyone in that country knows those are just excuses used more than 1000 times. The leader simply don't want the people see the film because that will threaten his/her ruling.

In this case, should the people get a copy of that film, in the name of liberty? Or should they respect the law? (let us say that country is still considered democratic, but since the majority are narrow-minded, no one protested the banning)

Rule of law or Liberty?

Liberty cannot exist without rule of Law, however we all know rule of Law can exist without liberty. Therefore anyone choosing Liberty is wasting a choice.

If the laws in the US were followed & the constitution upheld it would guarantee our liberty....it is organizations like LULAC & the ACLU which are threatening liberty for Americans....

Liberty is fine for the spirit but, the Law says if you don't do this or don't do that then ... you go to jail or pay a fine or both!
