There are two traditional parties and they both have channels to nominate for president 'who' they want to be nominated, it's not that the average John Doe is running for president and the party is eager to nominate him, then if someone else come up with another party all it does is create division among the American people, now, someone with an IQ of 180 to 200 which is normally the MENSA people, is not smarter but a little more alert than someone with an IQ below 85 which is terrible to be the commander in chief of this great nation, therefore the low IQ person could bring the country to chaos at any given time by not foresee the consequences of making decisions based in what someone else said, I think Rudy Giuliani has an average IQ like we all have, I'm sure he'll be running and he get my vote..☺

Because they are cynical - because they are clever - which makes them them the most selfish types of all.

But what makes a member of Mensa any nobler a human being than a non member...why didn't you ask about a person of heart, someone like Mother Teresa? There are many such people of heart.

Why make a god out of the mind as if its the only salvation there is.

Stupid people are people with a bad attitude not a low IQ which can not be helped.

What do you envision being different w a President possessing MENSA level IQ??

I was blessed w that intellectual gift, & while I am smart enough to know the rewards of the job don't come close to the liabilities, negativity, loss of privacy, misinformed/non constructive 2nd guessing, & general impossibility of pleasing all the people all the time.

And frankly I've got to burst the previous responders bubble about her perceptions of someone w MENSA intellect having no people skills.......I love people & have great talent getting along w anyone of any age, race, religion.....check out my act the next time I do a stand up gig, cuz I enjoy making folks laugh, or catch me entertaining folks in their 20s w my dead on karoake cover of Jay Z....I'm 50!!

Twenty years of selling insurance to over 3,000 different people required some people skills!!

But guess what? I still make some pretty dumb choices at time despite my intelligence........sometimes because of my intelligence....cuz I'm still a human being, & all of em make mistakes ...even our President.

If you have some ideas on making America even better please share em!! I'll be listening & promise not to judge you!!

They do not have peopl;e skills and in this society you must have that above all else as George bush is not mensa but he certainly does not get along well with the rest of the countries so tact and being diplomatic are the key things for our next president

It wouldn't be a DISqualifier, but the ability to solve abstract puzzles quickly isn't all I would want to know about a candidate. Certainly it would have filtered out the possibility of the present national disaster occupant. Down with Dictator Dumbya!!!

They are too smart to jump into a low paying thankless job where the left and the media are all too ready to second guess every decision, to the detriment of our national interests.

The president only needs to be clever enough to seek advice from honourable specialists.
