Science and Technology are factors that produce human progress, but at the same time can hinder human progress by inflicting cruelty and morally wrong experiments.

Ethics are important here to control this.

Ethics are important in ALL walks of life, not just science and technology. Ethics, it can be argued, are what seperates us from the animals. While you should be polite, well mannered and considerate towards people you interact with, ethics are the same thing, extended to your your fellow inhabitants of this world of ours, most of whom you will never meet, but whom you could adversely effect if you were unethical in a scientific or technological way.

Ethics is important in everything we do. " Do unto others as you would have others do unto you." The Golden Rule is necessary.
High standards are required. There is no such thing as starting with low standards because we tend to sink lower.

Basically to have a norm by which others can utilize the results in confidence and trust and to provide the best service to others and also to provide a norm for self control where the possibility of abuse or self misdirection and distortion is high.

ehics are inportant in science and technology is fine but we do not need religion to slow things down that is all thay ever want to do is hold back the human race
