Your Preferred Learning Style

A learning style is a way of learning. YOUR preferred learning style is the way in which YOU learn best. Three learning styles that are often identified in students are the Auditory Learning Style, the Visual Learning Style, and the Tactile/Kinesthetic Learning Style. Read about each of these learning styles to identify YOUR preferred learning style.

Are you an Auditory Learner?

Auditory Learners learn best when information is presented in an auditory language format. Do you seem to learn best in classes that emphasize teacher lectures and class discussions? Does listening to audio tapes help you learn better? Do you find yourself reading aloud or talking things out to gain better understanding? If YES, you are probably an Auditory Learner.

Are you a Visual Learner?

Visual Learners learn best when information is presented in a written language format or in another visual format such as pictures or diagrams. Do you do best in classes in which teachers do a lot of writing at the chalkboard, provide clear handouts, and make extensive use of an overhead projector? Do you try to remember information by creating pictures in your mind? Do you take detailed written notes from your textbooks and in class? If YES, you are probably a Visual Learner.

Are you a Tactile/Kinesthetic Learner?

Tactile/Kinesthetic Learners learn best in hands-on learning settings in which they can physically manipulate something in order to learn about it. Do you learn best when you can move about and handle things? Do you do well in classes in which there is a lab component? Do you learn better when you have an actual object in your hands rather than a picture of the object or a verbal or written description of it? If YES, you are probably a Tactile/Kinesthetic Learner.

Your learning style is your strength. Go with it whenever you can. When you can choose a class, try to choose one that draws heaviest on your learning style. When you can choose a teacher, try to choose one who's teaching method best matches your learning style. When you choose a major and future career, keep your learning style firmly in mind

once you are aware of your problem it is very easy to solve it. you say that your board exam is in the next year. learn your daily lessons in a very disciplined and systematic way -- if you are studying in a cbse or icse school work out Maths problems for Half an ahour every day without fai;ll. in these days of competition all the students will buck up as soon as they get to the final yr---10th or 12th whatever. and last minute preparation will lead you nowhere. Adoloscence or not you have to write your board exams next year is it not? whip yourself before it is too late. Because you were one of the toppers earlier, you will regret it terribly if you dont get things under control soon. Time lost is lost forever. But I think you are going to be determined to do well because you realise your problem. this is the first step to rectifying it. All the best. you will be a topper next year if you are diligent and systematic.

Hey, i understood your problem and your feelings. What you have to do primarily now is to chose any subject of your interest and just spare a half an hour per day . Do this for a week. If you hav time , pay a bit concentration on the other subjects too. You may think that when will the syllabus will be completed if i read like that. Don't bother. Just pay full fledged concentration on the thing which you read atleast half an hour.
Soon you will reach the top....
All the best..........

Get your act together and start studying. I would advise you to get up early in the morning about 4 am and hit the books. Make sure you complete all assignments before time. After your grade is back on top you may still have a little fun, but keep using your study plan, just be a little flexible with it.

firstly dont waste time in chatting or going out with someone cos that is a major and stupid distraction.

there is still time get ur act together.use the ncert books if u are in cbse and if u cant do anything do the last year papers and sample papers cos most of the questions come from there.

and just relax u have a load of time.cut out an the distractions and be focussed thats it.
best of luck

I may not be the right person to give advice. I was never a really big fan of studying. But if you are concerned then you need to buckle down a little. Sometimes I think people get too worked up about school. It IS important and good grades are too, but don't give up your youth just to get good grades. You only get to do it once, so make sure you do it right.

Set yourself up with a specific studying schedule and stick to it. It requires self dicipline and setting priorities. If your goal is to attend college and you want a scholarship, you need to make sure you get your grades back into the top level again. Are the distractions worth losing the chance to go to college.

Hello, Meghana,

The best way to get back your scores or to get interested in studies is to start writing what you read.

Answer one chapter a day from each subject, you don't have to take an exam, just copy the answers from the books.you will definitely get interested in studies.

Second thing to do is to give yourself a break of 10 min for every one hour you study. just relax in that ten min and don't use TV for relaxation.

This is how I used to study...Hope this helps you.

All the best.

If no longer, close the e book and settle for the undeniable fact that there grow to be no longer something you're able to do now and enable or no longer that's a lesson. do no longer forget approximately to do something which you rather delight in, It facilitates cut back the rigidity and relieves rigidity. no longer something feels extra advantageous once you're doing what you delight in.
