Your current card is agp x4 and the new card it x8. You may need to enter the BIOS and make an adjustment the turn the computer off, and swap cards. You may also need to increase the aperture in the BIOS.
If this does not work try clearing the BIOS and boot the computer with the new card. Since the old setting will be gone the BIOS should detect the new card. Just remove the motherboard battery for a couple of minutes.

Check the specs... are they described as agp 2x or agp 4x or something similar? If they are very different multipliers, your mobo may not be able to drive the newer card.

AGP 2x will run in an AGP1x slot... but I think AGP4x and above won't. Same... an AGP4 slot won't run an AGP1x card and may not run an AGP8x card.

To use the new card you may have to do a mobo upgrade too.

do you have the agp speed configured correctly on the new card to match your agp bus on the motherboard?

not positive but I belive the rage card you have is a 4x agp

the radeon x1300 could be an 8x

if your agp bus on the mohterboard supports 8x you'd need to config that in the bios to match the speed of the card.

or if it doesn't.... you might be able to config the radeon to run at 4x to match the motherboard specs (possibly a jumper setting on the card)

ATI Rage Pro drivers are different from ATI Radeon. Be sure to uninstall the old drivers before installing new card.
