elephants AND HORSES. in their domination of an entire continent, the Mongols were quite superstitious, and got creative when it came to eliminating the "holy men" of any religion, as they obviously didn't want any divine enemies. in the case of one Russian Orthodox priest, the Mongols rolled him up in a carpet and trampled him atop their war-horses, thus creating an ambiguous form of execution...was it the carpet, the horses...WASN'T US!
