That all depends on wether your possessions were taken away or you never had them to begin with. I knew a family who took their two daughters and lived on a sailboat for two years in the Carribean. When they got back they were the two most well balanced kids I've ever met. They were more social and less attracted to your current entertainment devices like tv.

Without material possessions my life would be a lot easier at times for sure. I would hope that if I had nothing, people would still be able to see my heart and what is in it, and that is what makes my life worthwhile.

I personally think so. We get too distracted with material things (the new cell phone, the new car, need to buy a house, and so one.)

If you want to make an experience, imagine you need to leave right now to another country and start a new life. But all you can bring must fit into a single tiny suit case. What would you carry? What would you need to leave behind? I am sure many things you think are VERY important for you right now would make less or no sense to carry.

Now imagine you'll need to come back one year later and pack all your stuff again. What did you bought during this last year abroad? Was it really necessary? Can you carry it back?

This is just my life experience right now. I am right in the middle of the trip and think my life makes much more sense right now.

Stay well ;)

If there was a major disaster and i walked away with no possessions at all only my family i would be the happiest woman in the world. So my life would be worth while at that moment. We would all like to think that we don't need material possesions but most people do. It's like a sign of status in some people's eyes. If your neighbours got a big tele you want a bigger one the same with everything in life. If you look at Maslow's hierachy of needs you will see what i mean. So we all need to better ourself 's with these simple material possessions, it's a psychological fact.

yes but only if I was in a location that had natural good water and air and food and friendly people that also were without material possession. like the garden of eden or maybe deep in a jungle.
it would be bad to be in a big city where everyone else was rich.

I shall say.. Good Question (: Well, my life would definitely be worthwhile as I have my loved one around me. It's not just about material stuff.. Is about those who loved you and make you feel like a whole that makes your life worthwhile. (:

I know I am very dependent on material possessions, but if you threw it all away I supose you might have a revelation or a vision on life's purpose, and that would be worhtwhile!
