Lego Star Wars II,Resident Evil 4, Super Smash Bros Melee(if you like fighting games or Nintendo) Shadow The Hedgehog ( if you love sega).

For a group, especially if it includes kids, Mario Party is a lot of fun.
The Mario sports games are also a lot of fun, for example, Mario Baseball, Mario Golf, Super Strikers.
My favorite ones are the Mario Kart games.
Zelda is a good game. It is much more about problem solving than attacking and killing.
