My grand-daughter is going to be in the chorus of cats (localy). I need some ideas of what kind of costume(since I have been elected to make it for her) I could fix for her.
I know nothing about the musical---------NOTHING!!

HI,

I hope the following links help with you search. I found links to two CATS sites and one for CATS costumes. Hope this helps with your creation.

I think the basic concept is a unitard with tights and then a fur tail and a fur head piece. Goodluck!

Everyone in the musical is a cat. So you have to make her look like a cat.

But better if you can make her a particular sort of cat that suits her personality.

What i have seen is tight fitting body suit painted in cat colours and with some kind of tail attached.

Also, you can buy or rent the DVD of the musical and look at the origional costumes in motion. I think that might be more effective. Plus, you'll be able to help her more if you know what they're going for.

my friend was recently in a production of Cats.
The cast members dyed unitards and were able to get some wigs and tails. The dyeing was very effective though.
