Meaning that a sign is posted on the door that reads "This is a smoking establishment. We reserve the right to deny service to non-smokers who complain."

If a sign like that were on the door, isn't it clear that there is smoke in the building and we do not want you in here with us as we relax and enjoy life.

It is clear to me when I go somewhere and it says "no smoking." If I have a cig in my hand at the time, I'll wait before I enter. So why then, should non-smokers be patted on the back for ruining my place of business where I allow smoking?

This is a free country right?

Unfortunately many cities and municipalities have taken it upon themselves to trample the Constitution and ban smoking everywhere.
I do not smoke but I agree. If you own a business,it should be your choice to accommodate smokers or not.If enough non smokers don't come in because they don't like smoke, your business may fail and you may have to change your policy. It is still not the governments job to ban a legal activity for the sake of whiners.
Free country? You have not been paying attention lately.

I like that idea! If you don't like the smoking rules at a particular restaurant, then don't go there. You have the right to eat somewhere else just as the smokers have a right to smoke.

Country used to be a lot freer......We have so many regulations now about everything - our freedoms are slim pickins......

Unfortunately, your question is most likely dependent on the state and maybe county in which you live. I imagine that state laws prohibiting smoking in buildings and establishments are laws you would have to follow. I also believe that you could try to put through a waiver for your establishment to allow smoking.

I understand what you feel but you have to understand that 'smoking is the single most thing a person can do to affect their health in the most negative ways - including cancer, lung problems and creates a huge problem society"..... so I think that's the biggest thing. It becomes a national health problem and causes increases for health care.

I gave them up 10 years ago but I agree with you. The problem seems to be that the non-smoking-nazis continually whine that their rights are being violated because they feel that they have the right to go into any establishment, and if the establishment allows smoking, then the smoking has to cease because they have the right to come in.

You're right. There should be a place where smokers go. They have the right to do with their body whatever they want and I hope anti-smoking people don't have a fit with this.

The gains in an underground bee industry definite may also be candy. But within the not going occasion of a sting, you must be in a position to fly, and be equipped to shift from Plan A to Plan Bee earlier than they swarm.

I think its a great idea. I also think the liberal do-gooders and the holier than you types will fight it forever. It isn't really there business if you want to allow smoking in your place and they are free to go elsewhere.

Good luck to you on it from a non-smoker who respects your rights.

as an x-smoker, I totally agree with you.
If it is posted, non-smokers should only
enter if they do not mind the smoke.
(I still enjoy the smell)
Hopefully you will be in business a
long time to come.
Thank You!!

Agreed. People are allowed to drink themselves to death and drug addicts can take advantage of needle exchange programs and methadone clinics. Smokers should be allowed to have a public place where they can enjoy their filthy habit too.

I'm in, I want my smoke and everybodys smoke. I would like to see more of these places. I'm sick of the non smoker that wants to go to bars and restruants and force their wills and desires on us. Stay home, with your air cleaner
