You can't. When you take advantage of free hotspots, you are using someone else's wireless router. This is how wifi users, whether they are using PDA's, PSP's or laptops, access the internet.

The exception to this are laptop and computer users who access the internet using cell phone towers or satellites. This requires hardware that the PSP does not have.

As far as I know the PSP doesn't have a wired Ethernet port. Only wireless is supported. You don't necessarily need a wireless router; a wireless access point will do fine if you already have a wired router.

You can reverse engineer a wireless card in an existing PC to AD-HOC a connection to a wired connection. but it's probably cheaper and way easier to just get a Wireless access point and do it the easy way. you can pick up a cheap B/router for like 20 bucks.
