Yes. A competition called something like "Hold Your Wee for a wii" was held by a radio station in California. They were going to give a wii to the person who could go the longest without peeing. The contestants had to drink a lot of water and one of the woman basically drowned internally. I think she had something like 8 gallons of water inside of her.

The radio station people got fired and I'm sure lawsuits have been filed.

A woman in Sacramento, California died after competing in a radio station water drinking contest. The person who could drink the most water without going to the bathroom would win a Nintendo Wii. She died of water intoxication, and the radio station is now being sued. Ten empolyees were also fired after the incident occurred.

Yes.To much water can cause the osmotic pressure in your body cells to go all out of wack. The cells absorb the water, and if there is too much water, they lyse, or burst. The lady in California drank about 2 gallons of water in 10 minutes. That doesn't really seem like enough water to kill you, but everybody's different. Her brain began to swell which caused the headache, she went into a coma, then sadly died. The people at the station who held the contest were fired. Hopefully they get sued, because thats a dangerous competion to be springing on people. Oh and sadly enough, she only came in second place.
