Just try this before you get bent out of shape. Take the battery to local parts store and have them test it. If its bad replace it. If its not then take it to the dealer if its still under wanrranty. If its not under warranty then remove the starter then have them test that too. Have things tested before you spend any money. But from the sounds of it you killed your battery. Good Luck

my battery dead after giving jump start. It is usually OK but this time I did not start the car with the good battery, just hook the battery to the bad battery and start it. It takes 3-5 seconds to start and 1 day later my good battery becomes bad and also need a replacement. Probably it is coincidence since I still can use the the car for about 24 hours and 10 starts after giving the jump start.

I have never known of a battery going bad just from giving someone a jump. The battery was probably already on the way out.

The act of giving a jump start will deplete your battery a bit, but not kill it. The possibility in your case (died a week later) is that you might have momentarily mis-connected the jumpers (pos to neg) and fried your charging system, so your battery was not being charged properly in that week.
Have the system checked out to be sure.

Yep! You can kill the poor thing. The battery can be abused to the point of giving up the acid ghost. I'm wondering though.....why a week later? The car itself should have replenished the juice as you drove the automobile. Check things out before you go spending money on the car.

I had this happen to me before with a '88 Ford. For some reason, every time I jumped someone's car, my battery would die and I would have to get a new one. Once, it blew my starter. I don't know why it happened and "they" say it shouldn't but it always did. If you get your battery a good charge (a long drive or hook up to a charger) and it still happens, you might want to check with your mechanic or get a new battery. Your car itself should be fine though.

Probably not so...
An automobile properly hooked up to "jump start" should not cause any damage to your own.
Red to Red, Black to Black...
You may need a new battery, or you left an accessory on unwittingly.

as long as you kept the engine running while giving the jump it shouldn't affect your battery
