It's called spin. News channels deliver the news, yet it is how they deliver it that causes the perception of dishonesty. Whatever the news reports is true, yet we don't see the facts they omit and we are unaware of the type of spin put on the news story. It is a known fact, nevertheless, that spin on the news sell more newspapers and get folks watching more TV news. Spin wins.

They don’t "make up" the news but they have their own way of manipulation the listeners' reaction to the news, they add or take out certain words and comments. For example, its very easy to find out if certain TV station is pro Bush or against him just by they news cast.

Did you mean true to us? Well no responsible news channel can survive if it dishes out incorrect news. Only, to survive the intense competition there is in this field, they too often go in for sensationalism.
