I will be insured three weeks from now, Is that soon enough or do I need to make the appointment now?

I would say that you should make the appointment right now and pay out of pocket if necessary. From what I understand, a doctor has to evaluate whether or not the IUD is a risk - if it is a risk and it can be removed without affecting the pregnancy, then the doctor will do so. If the IUD removal poses a threat, then sometimes it will just be left in and you hope for the best.
Either way, you have to be evaluated early so a doctor can make a decision earlier rather than later. Make sure when you call for a prenatal appointment, you tell the receptionist exactly what your situation is.

you need to get it removed ASAP because an IUD will interfere with the growth of your baby... the whole purpose of an IUD is to prevent implantation of the fertilized egg but there is a margin of error... but now that you are pregnant you must remove it now because your baby will not be able to grow if yo keep it in any further and u are at risk of losing your pregnancy

I would remove it immediately. I don't think it's safe if you are pregnant. 3 weeks is kinda far away to be leaving it in until then. Also when you think you're pregnant you need to get in right away to get the proper care. 3 weeks is pretty critical especially in early pregnancy. Good Luck!

Well first of all you say maybe pregnant!! How about taking a test and finding out for sure. Then if you are get your buns to the doctor.

If you definitely are pregnant, get it out now! Since you got pregnant with it in, the implantation obviously took place, but as the baby grows rapidly in the next few weeks, it could interfere. Good luck with your decision.

Err. I'd sure be getting rid of it now. I didn't think IUD's were still in use?? If you are preggers, go to your doctor and get it out right now, this is dangerous.
