To be exact... how do you place font on the shape you create? Circle or any other shape. Directly on its exterior or interior border lines. I know its possible. thanks

You can draw a circle from the auto shapes,
then, choose on the shape tool bar, set it to be as path
after that just click on the T for text on the path of the circle
start writing .. thats it

I'm an old photoshop user (as in: user of old version).
I know you can't do that in Photoshop 7, but Illustrator 10 had that.
I have no clue about CS and CS2, but the following might help you (if its implemented on those new versions, and if this is what you're using).

You create a path (vector based, not pixel based). Then, under the text tool, you will find something called "text on path". That's where the magic happens.

I cant remember I ever did that in Pshop 7, but It can be done in Illustrator 10.
Once again, not sure about the CS and CS2 series.

Just click on the text icon then click on the shape that you created. When the text space is on, you can start typing fonts. Edit shape's size and /or text by using the arrow on the toolbar.
