if its a million years how come we entered a new millenium in 2000 then???

I don't know that it has a name. It is NOT, however, a millenium as people on here are telling you. That is a thousand years. There are millionS of years spans that are called eras, periods, etc., but they aren't limited to a million year span. Look up the geologic time scale for more information on that.

Millenium refers to 1000 years so all answers saying that are wrong.

I can't say as I've ever heard it called by anything other than simply a million years
