First let me ask, How old are you???, This may seam not my business, as well that not the best way to answer such a question that for many, expecially in a materialistic Country there is not time to waste, because apparently time is Money?, Although my concern is because I'm also searching to become a good person, and although you may said I'm old,(54), I have learn many things inlife and the most Importan of all is that money will not buy Happiness ever. my concern is with the new generations as well with the incoming generation, you may said complitly aware of those yet unborn little childrens that if we don't persue a more Humanistic way's to live, they will have nothing to look forwar to a good future. My answer to you is dream, or at leasy give it a try, although you may be a thinker, though dreaming if you steal young, is good because then you can find out by your own self if you are or a dreamer or a thinker or both. practical?, you aren't simple because some how you found the time to think and ask, what are your choices, tthough you can become anything you want, through my own experience, and by observing my own earthly Father's sacrifice, I decide to become my Father's Son, and I know it make him Happy, as well it has made me Happy, because I became a better person, a God believer, in quest to make a better world by inprouving my understanding for the needs of others. not just for the material needs but mostly for the spiritual needs that with certainty are more valuables for Humanity that anything The so call materialistic societies, have, will and can offer. learn from books from any book's, as soon as you enjoy the reding, and then make your own conclusion about what life expect from you, as well that what God needs from you to become. God bless you and give you the power of understanding, in the name of Jesus. Amen.

The majority of people don't know what they want to do or be... and a lot of people never do... (they are generally the most interesting people) i didn't and still don't know to an extent.. all I knew at a young age was that I didn't want to be a runaround or dogsbody for the corporate companies...I wanted my own skill and profession that I could later have as a small business.. and i want to help people.. so I stuck with education.. went through GCSEs, A Levels and then uni and hoped that, by the end of that something would come to me...

Don't be afraid to be indecisive...go for the things that you enjoy... if you make a mistake and decide that particular career isn't really for you, don't worry. It is not difficult to change your mind and career and take a different avenue.

My general advice is the just keep learning as muchas you can... the more you know about the world, the better equipt you are to make a decision.. :)

P.S. please don't listen to all of those people who tell you that you aren't meant to enjoy your career, it's just a means to an end... you'll spend most of your life working... although you may not enjoy all of it, try to aim towards doing something that you will enjoy in the long run..

I used to be a college professor, and even the best students there had trouble picking a major halfway through their college years. Only a few of these 20-year-old kids knew "what they wanted to be when they grew up." Some changed their majors in their senior year!

The idea is to follow your passionate interest and learn all you can. Get involved in the community and find out how things work. The more you learn, the easier it will be to tell what areas of life are really interesting to you. Don't worry about where the high salaries are. You want your work to be a joy, have fun and get paid for it, not be miserable.

You do not need to decide what to become when you grow up. Yes, during our schooling, teachers or parents tend to force children to make decision immediately as this world is result oriented world. But if you find you are not sure, just let it go.
While you learn various kinds of subjects, if you really want to find your own direction, it will come to you. Enjoy your life.

Balance your interests with the job market factor in your ability to survive on cheap food. After that decide on the lifestyle you want to be able to afford. Be realistic...

Then read, read, and read some more about things that interest you. In time, your future will come to you.

It is important to like what you do for a living, but it is also important to be able to get paid to do it. Liking your work does not put food on your table.

Get a good education and start with general courses. Certain subjects will get more of your attention than others and you will find that you are not only more interested in them but skilled with them as well. A satifying career will include both your interests and your skills.

I just wish they had such a thing when I was a kid.......

If you can't decide now - that's OK. Grow up first, then decide. That will be fine. Don't rush yourself.
