They're both saying it was mutual and I'd bet that's true. There is a 9 year age difference between them, and it's across a pivotal growth period for both. They were already drifting apart and I'm sure they both realized it was over.
The gap between her 34 and his 25 is vast in terms of individual growth, experience, and maturity. It takes a lot of effort, patience, and understanding, mostly on the older person's part, to make such a relationship work. My guess is that it was just too much for them to overcome, especially with their professions and work schedules.

Justin ended the relationship sometime before Christmas Eve. They weren't seen together at that time, so it was probably a little before X-Mas Eve. They decided to go their seperate ways because Cameron was a commitment-phobe and they couldn't commit to each other very much. They had very different lifestyles and their careers were going in opposite directions, plus the age difference was a total factor in the relationship blues. Justin was even seen announcing to club revelers, "Me and Cameron? We're over!" Also, Justin was the get-out-and-party type while Cameron was a homebody and liked to stay home with her friends and hang out. Justin was also recently seen partying with different woman and he's held a close friendship with real estate agent friend, Veronica Finn. Justin was seen kissing her warmly, on the cheek, and having his arms around her. Justin has also held cozy conversations with rumored girl, Scarlett Johansson. This complicated love triangle, seemingly, won't ever fill out!

I wonder that myself. In every break-up, there's always one person who wanted out and one person who was heartbroken. I don't believe many couples separate mutually. My guess with Justin and Cameron is that Justin wanted out, and Cameron got her heartbroken. Justin is just about to go on tour and has been seen hanging around with other pretty women. Cameron, on the other hand, got in a heated argument with him after one of the award shows. She's probably very upset. My advice to her is to dye her hair blonde again which looks much better on her, and go find herself a guy with a better body than Justin's scrawny one, and get to know someone new.

I heard that JT cheated on her. After the buzz that they got into a shouting match at the Golden Globes at an after party, it sounds like CD WAS dumped !

Justin apparently ended it because of her jealousy and her unwillingness to get married. He cast Scarlett Johansson in his next video and Cameron doesn't like her because she dated Cameron's ex Jared Leto - a full two years after he and Cameron broke up, by the way. Justin apparently has friends in common with Scarlett and one of them suggested her. Cameron freaked out and apparently it was the final straw for Justin. Cameron needs to grow up in my opinion. She's 34 years-old and acts like she's 20. Justin's been dealing with her jealousy for awhile. At a club,she reportedly threw ice at a model who was in one his videos, because she said hi to Justin. She told her, "You have to come through me to talk to him." Psycho much?
