Religion, politics, and music does more harm to our children in my opinion. As well as the internet............
I know of several parent who don't even have television or internet as the kids get both in school!
Oh, that's another, public school. It can be worse than the media for our children.
Well, Melanie I guess the solution is to keep children at home in their rooms, homeschool, no tv, no computer until they are 18 and then expect them to compete in this world.
Parents are the gatekeepers. I blame the materialism and consumerism of our children on their parents. If parents do their jobs, and some do, the kids aren't sucked into all this.

I would consider myself a 'child' (im thirteen) and i don't think im brainwashed. I only watch tv for entertainment purposes, and i don't find those skinny women on the catwalks glamorous and desirable at all. Im sure there are lots of children who think like that, heck even some adults, but not all children with tv's are. And anyway, the media's 'brainwashing' is everywhere. So what you are saying is that we should cover our eyes everytime we see a perfume ad?

Due to laziness most people just seat in front of the TV to absorb all the garbage presented to them instead of inquiring for themselves about higher goals of life.

They learned this technique from the basics of religion.
Religion is the self esteems biggest slap in the face .
Not only do you not feel great about yourself ,but you "PAY" someone to tell you this .
In religion no matter what you do in life you will never achieve perfection .

I do not have children, and am not a mindless follower. The media is paid advertisement for the most part and should be regarded that way.
