Why do I always forget how bad I'm going to feel the next day. Don't say stop drinking red wine, either, because I have no intentions of doing so! LOL

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll try anything at this point. I'm guzzling water right now after taking some tylenol.

Drink plenty of Gatoraide honey, you are dehydrated. Dehydration causes headaches after drinking too mushc red wine. And might I suggest you lay down in a dark room? This too will help.

Drinking ANYTHING with CAFFINE, though soda pop tastes good, will only dehydrate you farther.

OH ... and NO WATER!!! That can make you throw up, and with a headache & dehydration? MAN will that HURT!

O MAN! Don't listen to ANYONE telling you to eat asperin while you drink, OR if you are still drunk. Asperin only INTENSIFIES drunkeness.

Take it from someone who knows from YEARS of prior experience.

Now go rest & try to recoup., not staring at the PC screen. That can only worsen your headache.

How a lot you drink is the essential determinant of a hangover...along side the quantity of additions in what you are ingesting, i.e. you are much more likely to get a hangover from ingesting sugary margaritas then you're from ingesting triple distilled vodka (assuming identical potions). I discover that I many times am much more likely to get a hangover from pink wine that involves sulfites (a preservative further to plenty of pink wines). Also, the sugars in wine give a contribution to the hangover. Assuming the above elements are the equal - I doubt you could discover a change among a bottle of pink wine from South Africa and a bottle from Oregon. Moderation is the important thing. That and drink tons of water earlier than you fall asleep and consume a banana and a few coconut water while you get up to steadiness out your blood glucose phases, change a few of your electrolytes, and rehydrate.

Drink a lot of water during the time you are consuming the wine.I too love red wine, but it can be a nasty hangover because wine stays in your system longer. Don't drink a lot of other things during the same day/evening..i.e. Scotch, etc....especially beer.
The best preventative I have found is something called "Chaser"; it is a capsule found in the same section of the drugstore as aspirin, etc. You take two before you start drinking and another every 2-3 glasses of wine. It has worked very effectively for me.

A hangover is just the result of dehydration. That's all. After drinking and just before you go to bed drink a tall glass of water and take some asprin. You might have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom but that's better than having a hangover. If you still have a hangover in the morning drink more water. The only way to get rid of the hangover is to get water into your system.

How about this tip:before you start boozing, you ought to drink two litres of just plain water.
Alcohol dehydrates you and that is the well known hangover:I know you will have to go to the bathroom a lot, but:no hangovers anymore.
After getting home:3 glasses of water will do the trick.
The next morning you will be OK.
No pounding headache nothing.
Only replenish your fluids.
Rob.
No medicines needed at all.

You should drink coffee and water the next day and also try limiting yourself to 2 cups of red wine because it's actually good for your blood pressure levels.

I hate that. Try drinking lots of water and sleeping it off, it's the only way I know of. I do know that after a night of drinking, if you drink lots of water before going to bed, the hangover is minimal if you have one at all. Feel better.

tylenol isn't the best idea, cuz combined with alcohol it can do severe damage to your liver, which is already screaming!!

That said, go take advil and see if you can sneak a nap. Red wine does the same thing to me, but oddly enough I can usually stop myself when I drink red. Give me a bottle of pino grigio, though, and I'm toast.

A couple glasses of water, some slices of American cheese, and a large glass of V-8 with some Triscuits. Pop a few ibuprofen, too :-)
