Yes in certain parts of the country this would be rascist, but here in the appalachian mountains this is just a term we use for certain classes of people.I say it's geographical classification!
And besides you dont hear us white trash folk screaming every time we think we have been dissed.

Yes, definitely racist. Unfortunately, those of colour are held to a lower standard of behaviour when it comes to racist comments and actions. I don't think there will be true equality until ALL racism is abhorred and criticized openly. Just because one is of colour, that does not excuse rude, racist behaviour and hate speak. It's not only sick, it makes you appear immature.
On that same note, did anyone watch that racist on Trading Spouses last night? I have never seen such racism and all out of the mouth of a man of colour. He was truly hateful.

I think that White Trash isn't technically a racist term, rather it describes a lifestyle and attitude. I've always thought of a White Trash person as someone who has taken no steps to learn a job skill or education, doesn't take care of themselves hygenically, harbors racist attitudes to people of color, and wears thier hair in a mullet.

Yes, any term of reference drawing on race as a negative, is racist.
Being non-white, I feel it unacceptable.
But isn't this question, just like many other on here regarding race, just so old soddin news.
Yes people can be wankers and draw on their most base tendancies when trying to hurt others.

Of course it is, and Jermaine Jackson should have known better. Or has he forgot was life was like for his family, before The Jackson 5 became famous? It's a horrible, racist term to use

If ethnically European people think that the term is a racist and offensive term then I will not use it. It is entirely up to the individual to decide upon what they find offensive, and it is the responsibility for others to not use it.

Yes it is racial remark. I'm white, I wouldn't ever make a remark that alludes to a persons colour.
Having said that, it takes a lot to make me upset in name throwing.
I'd remove myself to more worthy company. I'd never get in a slanging match over it.
Half of it is verbal diarrhoea...
