Dictionaries are books containing the words of a language arranged alphabetically, sometimes called a lexicon or word book. The uses of dictionaries are as follows.
They give a concise and understandable explanation as to the meanings of words. This is particularly useful with words that have more than one meaning, such as 'bear' which could mean 'to carry' or 'a wild animal'.
They give a phonetic explanation as to how each word should be pronounced or spoken. This is particularly useful with words that are not pronounced as spelled. An example of this is the word 'Charade' which is pronounced 'Sharade'. It also distinguishes between words that sound the same but have different meanings such as 'There', indicating a place, or 'Their' meaning 'belong to'.
Dictionaries also explain about the historical or geographical origin of words. This is useful since many English words are derived from Latin, French, German, Italian, Spanish or other languages. This helps to give a better understanding of words. An example is the word 'Nourishment' meaning 'food' or 'To furnish with food to promote growth'. This is derived from a French word 'Nouritture' meaning 'feeding, food or board'.
192 words. Will that do?

I heard someone cackle--he was a phony! So I yelled at him "cacophony." He asked me what the issue was, was he too loud? I chortled and snorted a giggle and said "no it was just your fake cackle that made me yell." He asked me if I can form a sentence with geometry. I said "gee, I'm a tree." All of the glass in the house broke, causing a loud ruckus and cacophony. The End.
