Oki, clear morning.i too love my heritage--Blackfoot as well. though we have reservations to tame the body, we must not allow the mind to be enslaved as well. we must also not live in the past and ruminate in the wrongs inflicted on us by others, but seek to ensure that our people live on. my advice to you and others is to educate others in our language, in our culture and not soil our image with hate or stereotypes.

novemeber is native heritage month, btw, but i choose to live every day respecting my Native brothers and sisters as well as all people. i choose not to be called ndn, but native by choice and Blackfoot by blood.

I agree with Southern65. Native Americans received the worst treatment of all. And this took place in their own land.

Yet, there is no Native American History month. Kind of ironic, considering that a lot of white Americans have Native American ancestry.

Everyone was once like that but the reality is that eventually we all end up the same and so you have to give up the hunting and gathering and decide what land you want to own, you cant just own all that you can see or all that is borded by water otherwise america would own the moon.

I agree 100 per cent. my personal idea of heaven is Turtle Island in a period of time before the European " invaders " arrived. by the way if you can find a copy of the alternative history book, " The Indians Won, " it is well worth while.
