More importantly you should know what the colours mean. Green doesn't mean 'Go', it means what used to be described as 'proceed with caution'. So if you go through a green traffic light and hit a vehicle coming the other way you might be at least partially liable for the accident.

amber=stop
green= stop unless road is clear ahead
