Legally it is known as workplace bullying, it is an offence. Report him to the appropriate authorities, if you are a unionised worker report him to them also. Under no circumstances does a boss have the right to belittle a worker, as to the reason he yelled instead of answering he quite possibly did not know the answer.
Extremely poor business management on his part.
Also it is the employers duty to ensure his workers are all given full induction, task training and are aware of all aspects of occupational health and safety, to remain up to date as far as is practicable on the latest developments within the work sector. If he is under pressure he needs to delegate some lower skilled tasks to workers that are willing and traineed to perform.

Yelling is one thing, swearing is another. Did you have any witnesses? You need to calmly tell him you dotn appreciate him talking to you that way. He has a boss too. If hes the owner, then his boss would be the State Labor Board.

Yell back and tell him you will not put up with his tone.
You need to start looking for another job.

start recording these outbursts for a week or two..
then turn a copy over to your human resource manager if you have one and if you don't --your attorney--for the lawsuit you are filing...
he goes ....and you expect a nice settle for your emotional suffering...
it would even pay to visit a therapist..emotional stress..
tears em up in court...

Take it as an objective, and do it like a job. Don't get yourself fired over some measly 2-cent words.

Go to your HR department. You need to have a record of what happens.
