Hello, That all depends on what side of the fence you sit on. As usual, to the powers that be, he was a terrorist and to his friends and followers a revolutionary and martyr. Here are some criticisms regarding his intentions and lifestyle: "Bhagat Singh was criticized both by his contemporaries and by people after his death because of his violent and revolutionary stance towards the British and his strong opposition to the pacifist stance taken by the Indian National Congress and particularly Mahatma Gandhi. The methods he used to make his point—shooting Saunders and throwing non-lethal bombs—were quite different from the non-violent non-cooperation used by Gandhi. Bhagat Singh has also been accused of being too eager to die, as opposed to staying alive and continuing his movement. It has been alleged that he could have escaped from prison if he so wished, but he preferred that he die and become a legacy for other youths in India. Some lament that he may have done much more for India had he stayed alive." Cheers, Michael Kelly

In answer I would say that I should ask you to explain why you wish to contradict this statement made in the text book. Do not leave your reasoning blank for you have not made a valid contradictory statement with reasoning to say that NO; Bhagat Singh cannot be called a terrorist. He was a freedom fighter in my eyes and I want the world to know it. Be clear, straight and logical and you will get the answers which you want. Which also in my belief is true.

Bhagat Singh,Rajguru and Sukhdev were definitely not terrorists. They were highly patriotic, madly in love with thier half starved ,half naked Indian brethren suffering cruelly at the hands of British Crown and out of sheer hatred for cruel British rulers, they as misguided youths, had chosen wrong methods to fight for the freedom of India at the shortest possible time withh out waiting for the mercy of the rulers.

Veer Savarkar was called coward and his name was removed from the Cellular Jail in Andamans where he was interned for 13 years., now no wonder great patriots Bagath Singh, Sukhdev and Raj Guru who gave their lives for this country are called terrorists. If the people vote the wrong persons to power anything can happen.

NO.
Authorities approving books in ICSC must be MAD or anti social elements in India.
They are wrong person sitting at right place to give their biased teaching to our students.
Please let me know name and address of person responsible for doing all this if possible.
We must oppose with our extreme efforts to withdraw those words from the book as soon as possible.
The official doing this should be punished immediately ,GOVT. must find out the culprit. I am sure he will be rightist in his mind either communist or MAD.
Somehow we find more communist in our NCERT,SCERT and other education related organisation in India. Actually those people know very well how to attack sentiments of Indians.
Some time I feel that Congress only want to glorify their own freedom fighters/leaders.

How are school books made these days?
The entire text of this lesson must have been bodily lifted from some other book- (possibly written pre1947)
copyright requirements possibly need to be respected - and changes cannot be made-
It is just sloppy work at constructing text-books

For Lucifer, God was a villain.
You are Lucifer, if you do not consider them as heroes. They are the very epitome of patriotism for India. My eyes wells up every time, I think of Bhagat Singh.
