just reminds me of how many bad choices our governemnet has made, and frankly I understand it. As I would probably feel the same way.
Heck, 1/3 of this country cant even stand its present leadership, so I could only imagine the perception other countries have of us.

But then, given America's reputation in the past, and its role with developing training and supplying its present days enemies, one couldnt argue why other countries hate.

As american as they come
but as practical as they come as well

Yeah, please elaborate! I believe any other country would feel the same way, (I.e. See how middle-east reacted to the Mohammed Cartoon released about a year ago, they bombed the building!!)

Are the military attacking the people or our military? It's different situations. If it's a parody, it's okay.

Recently I was watching a japanese drama where they depict NYers as people who only curse and beat up foreigners. That is not the case now as our city is rated the nicest city in tthe world currently.. so, WTH? But I know that truly isn't how the author meant to depict it because in the drama there were some nice NYers after not understanding the foreigner, they left which is what we do.

Do you mean, one of our allies held a referendum and as an official national policy has published anti-American abuse? Or did a citizen of an ally, exercise their freedom of speech?

Personally I don't care what the rest of the world thinks in general. I think they should mind their own affairs and allow Americans to mind ours. The exception would be if we have invaded their country. Then I might accept that they have a legitimate beef. The Anti-American rhetoric is simply dishonest. These countries will take our aid. They want our trade and tourism dollars. If these countries seriously hate America, I say they should put their money where their mouth is and then I might take them seriously.

Probably no worse than we feel when the anti-American contingent in our own country gets started. I mean, really...why live here if you want to spend 24/7 telling everyone how miserable you are. It isn't the old Soviet Union after all. No one is keeping you here with AK-47s. Go somewhere else where you can be happy.

It is said, you reap what you sow, if this is true and I believe it is, what feedback that is coming back at us, is what we as a country have given out. Personally, what countries and people think about the country is immaterial, my question is what do you feel?

If you do not like what is beng said, what are you doing to change it. Everyone has the duty to be the change in the world, they wish to see.

Your question does not specify who or what you are referring to. Nor does it specify the nature of the abuse. If someone from a foreign country says something bad about me, I don't care. Just don't mess with me or my country.

Taking the highest road, it doesn't matter. You help someone or work with someone for a greater goal, and petty differences can be magnified, either by the media or by personal egos. And it shouldn't be that way. We work to help humanity, ideally, not to be liked by everybody.

Americans have thick skin when it comes to criticism from ANY other country. We bicker and fight amongst ourselves just like any big family. We only get ticked when another country threatens our freedom and security.
