There are a lot of sites that will validate your code, which is the #2 waste of bandwidth.

http://www.w3.com/ is a good one.

Tip: Fix one problem, then re-validate. HTML is incredibly tricky and one quote (") can throw your whole page off!

Consider redoing your site using CSS for the look and layout - it saves a huge amount of bandwidth if done right.

The #1 waste? Images! No picture should be more than 30 Kb, and use either the .jpg or .png format.
Logos should be even smaller - 20 Kb is more than enough, and they should be in .gif or .png.

After that, you need to add meta tags for search engines - feel free to look up any words you don't understand on Google.

A huge, huge tip: Get and install Firefox, make the sites for Firefox, then tweak the code so it works in IE. Your sites will be easier to make, easier to edit, and smaller.

The "Web Developer" add-on for Firefox is incredibly handy - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/60/

Let me know if you need more tips,
Amanda
