I have tried expensive cleaners that claim to remove creosete on fireplace glass windows and inside firebox. They simply do not do the job! Anyone have suggestions or remarks on what works for them? Thank you.

Never heard of the ashes suggestion...but I presume it would work to get the crud off initially.
I am in the cleaning business and glass and windows and mirrors has always been my challenge.
You could use SOS pads on glass or windows...yep ..it will not scratch.
However, for regular cleaning and maintaining clean windows etc.
Try this cleaning cloth. You have to buy in packages of 5 but they are only like $3 bucks a piece. I have ordered them and use them on everything, especially cleaning windows and clean mirrors. They are made out of tiny fibers. They are guaranteed not to scratch and all you do is rinse the cloth under water, wring it out and wipe ANY surface with no streaks or scratch. Use em over and over. I have not thrown one away yet!
I even waxed my car with it! I am sold on this ...I encourage you to try it out.

The windows of your doors--
I learned accidently-- ashes! Yep, interesting-- dropped my damp cleaning cloth in the ashes and kept going-- hard to believe how well it works. After it's clean, use windex or vinegar water to finish the job. Wonderful!
The firebox-- a sweep for that I fear.
good luck

have you checked with a chimney sweep? if you have creosote in the fireplace, it's probably in the flue also. ask him when you have the chimney cleaned, he might even offer this service. you should have the chimney cleaned every year or two depending on how much you use it. good luck.
