Good question! According to the bible it is. I'm a christian but I'm
not sure if money itself is the root of all evil or if it's just the greed it can produce that's evil. I think if a person has a good heart and is a really good person, money wouldn't be used for evil, nor would they be coniving their way to get more of it. But if a person is selfish, amoral, arrogant, greedy, etc...... money could be a self destructive weapon in their hand. Money can buy crack but money can also be donated to help kids with cancer. It's all how the person chooses to use it. Money is just a tool to acquire what we want. So of course it's not evil if you use it for good!

I would say that the actual physical money is not the root of any evil. For it depends on how/what it is used for.
No, it is the GREED of man that is the root of all evil.

This famous verse from the King James Bible is often misquoted as saying "Money is the root of all evil"
The actual quote is, "For the love of money placed before the love of God is the root of all evil."
What is being spoken of (by the Apostle Paul) is greed.

No, people are the root of all evil. We invented a value system. Based on "needs" and "wants". The system keeps the "needs" just out of reach, and the "wants" are there to blind you with bling! So you don't really know what's good for you theses days anymore!

The correct statement here is
the LOVE of money is the root of all evil
Money in and of itself is a straight up necessity in life
but when people fall in Love with it-- IT becomes the focus
with no regard to how it is obtained or what one has to do for it !!!

No, society's sense of value and it's people's corrupted and damaged mind are. To simplify this, evil maybe viewed as anything society disapproves. Money is society's medium of exchange. It represents value, by itself it is of no value.
They say lazy mind is the devil's garden. So I won't spoon feed you, you take it from here...set your mind free, think, debate and derive your own conclusion. It will make you a better person for it.
Something else you may want to think about. Suicide bombing lately had been crowding the news. Do you think, if this poor sucker had not been brainwashed and was capable of exercizing a modicum of intelligence, he would still blindly believe his imam and controllers?
Sorry if I sound pedantic. This medium is restrictive of exhaustive dissertations.

I think it is...greed and jealousy...pride...all bring out the worst in people, but from my own experience people really show their true colors when money is involved. People you would never think would stoop so low, or be petty, or be selfish and greedy- it is all revealed when money is on the table.
