Say, You kids live in a small town with nothing to do? Preety bad huh, And there is too much criminal activity going on? Bad huh, How would you teenagers, feel if thyere was a bulding a big one, built, just for 12 till 18 years old, to hang out after school and saturdays, Have maybe 5 big rooms, filled with games and computers, and pool rooms, and a nice big cellar, to have dances , and parties, for special events, Have sports outside, And have the parents, voulunteer to help run the place, and Also, have snacks and food after school,Need teenagers thoughts? Thanks?

I think thats an awesome idea, i would totally go there. im 14 and i live in a big city and i haven't seen anything like that HERE!so the kids would totally like it THERE.

I came from a town that had the basics and a highschool. (the highschool had 2,000 people bused in... the towns total population was 1,000). After school they allowed us to go to the community centre to do activities and games and such on Fridays. At first it was pretty cool, but then people decided that it, like all small town things, was "lame" and no one showed up anymore. It was basically a waste of time and money quickly. We also had local punk bands come up and do concerts once a week after that. It went really well for 2 years until a few teenagers went out into the back drunk and completely smashed the gazebo. That was the end of the punk shows.
Unfortunatly, unless you have some good teenagers in your town, people will ruin it. Try it out, see how it goes, but don't be too disappointed if it has to be cancelled because of a few rotten apples.

Do you mean a community centre? Well i live in Australia and there is plenty to do and not much crime but i think a lot of teens wouldnt really like the whole 'parents helping out thing' , but i see where you are going and i think its really great of you to do something for the community and i hope your council approves this idea because i think it could help a lot of kids. Perhaps also have a room with a couple of computers so kids who cant afford them can do homework and stuff? You should get volunteers to work there and make sure they dont get up to no good, but id be a bit iffy if my parent was watching me socialise! but yeh i like the idea of the pool table thing and the dance room.
This idea of yours will cost a fortune though!

Lots of luck. I grew up on a farm outside of a very small town (442 people). There was absolutely nothing to do. Such a thing was talked about but nothing ever came of it. That was over FORTY years ago. They're still waiting. I graduated and left for the nearest city-300 miles away!

That sounds so awesome!!!!!! It's kind of like the canteen where I go after school. There are adults there to supervise but it's run by us teens. everyone there is 13-18 and we got on trips and have contests and games everyday. There is a fridge, stove, oven, and a LOT of snacks there!!! We play outside a lot we usually play kickball and dodgeball. It sounds like a great idea!!!! Good luck with it!

i'm definitely 4 it...i'm in a town of 5000, there's no jobs for everybody becuz the grownupz get mad when we try to do sumthin constructive w/ our lives so we just slowly die from boredom each day. It sounds really good and I wish it was like a "Snap" and itz there!!

im 15 and i say that would be a great idea!!! i live in a small town and the only place we get to hang out are the public libary(rle, tlr boring) and on saturady theres this place called saturady night fights which we can c pple fight..... and thats it.... so rle rle great idea.... btw i say u should run 4 mayor in my town eith those great ideas!!

ok, where would the money come from? what if addicts, potheads, and shankers start to hang out there, what then? it would be cool if none of those things happen, besides most kids at this age are pretty messed: smoking, gangbanging, impregnating girls, u know what i mean
