They dont pay child support and live in broken homes, the men are known to cheat on their wives and play around thats why michigan had to impose a new law making it illegal to have extramarital affairs, the exploit women to pose nude in playboy by offering them millions, they also exploit the poorest of the poor to have sex with animals by offering them millions as well. Not to mention the physical abuse that comes along with all of this.

Yea Yea I know that you are going to say this is not the majority of Americans but hey it is America that has the majority of problems. Ok give me 20 hands down i dont give a crap.

the answer to your question not withstanding your explanation is yes. all of that aside, even with the sexual revolution of the 1960's and '70's, women and men in this country have not been able to get past the physical weakness of women, nor the need for men to feel superior through competition. due to genetic make-up these hurdles will never disappear. so sad.

That law isn't new whatsoever---it's an old law that was still on the books but they recently decided could still be active. If people put themselves in situations to allow themselves to be exploited, then that's what happens. Women should be smarter than that and not think that any male warm body will do. There are many women like me who don't believe in it for a second.

Also, women choose to pose in Playboy of their own volition. They have to sign contracts for that, so I don't get how you can say it's exploitation. For it to be exploitation, it would have to be against the will of the woman. If she signs those contracts of her own volition, it isn't.

You have a great deal to learn about America and the world around you. Then again, don't we all ;)

Hardly. You are seriously focusing on some very small parts of the population and generalizing from there in a huge way. Do you actually know of any women who get "millions" for posing nude or having sex with animals?

Women who are supposed to pay child support have a much nigher rate of non-compliance than men. Most men pay their child support. Women cheat at almost the same rate as men.

This is one of the most ill-informed questions I've seen.

I'm a 53yr old American woman and I've never been abused by anyone. I have the freedom to come and go as I please. I have the freedom to safely vote for whoever I want to. I have the freedom to work in a safe enviornment. I have the freedom to be who and what I want in life. I can choose who I marry or if I marry at all, I can own property, I can make decisions about my own body, I don't need a man in my life to be socially acceptable. I gave birth to healthy children, who grew up free and educated young women who will carry their education as far as they want to. I own a house, a car, everything in it, and have very little debt.

I can walk safely on the street and wear anything I want to. I can voice my political opinon openly and without reservation. I am not responsible to a man unless I choose to be, such as in a job situation. And when I was married, my husband never once cheated on me, nor did I cheat on him. I was able to divorce him freely when we grew apart. However we both worked together to provide for our daughters, and still do to this day. My daughters grew up with two parents, even though we were no longer married, we were with them on a daily basis.

My daughters and their female friends would never pose in a pornographic magazine. They are either in graduate schools, or working. They are a homemaker, a special education teacher, a highway patrol officer, an office manager, and a chef. None of my daughters friends are drug or tobacco users, and none have ever been offered millions to have sex with animals.

I have no idea of what you are talking about, or the experiences you describe. And if this country has the majority of the problems, its also the first place people like you come to when your own country becomes unsafe or has no opportunity to provide you with a decent life. Its also my tax dollars (and I work 12-16hr days for you), that provided the money that is sent to your countries to shore them up.

This is the way a Midwestern woman looks at it. Life has opportunities and choices. You may live in a country where you have those choices and opportunitites, but my guess is that you don't, or if you do, sometime in the last century we helped you by our money and our lives to recover those from someone who took them away from you.

You don't have to live here, and frankly we would probably rather you didn't. However everyone else is welcome to come here and work hard like the rest of American's do.

I know it seems like it is an American problem, but you should hear my wife talk about the men in Brazil! She says it's nothing for a 55 year old man to dump his long-time wife and marry a 15 year old girl. A lot of cultures still have overtones of machismo, where the man can do no wrong and the woman has to take up all the slack. Not to mention everything you hear about the women in muslim countries who can't show their faces and have to walk several paces behind their husbands. I really despise the exploitation of women that you talk about. My own daughter is an exotic dancer, but she chooses to be. She calls it "Taking money from stupid old men".

Probably to an extent. It's not good, but it could be a damn sight worse. Spare a thought for those poor women in mid eastern countries who get circumsised, and also those women from the Ukrane who get lured into Turkey on false pretenses only to be used as sex slaves. So, all in all, I reckon we got it pretty good. Why? Because we have a choice. We can either live with these blokes or have nothing to do with them.

I myself have never been able to find out precisely what feminism is:
I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a door mat or a prostitute.
