I like your idea, but you need to make sure you get the kids involved as well, it will make them feel like they had a voice and they are less likely to destroy the property. You definitely have to address the issue of security because unfortunately, there are some kids out there that have no respect whatever for anyone else's property.

Just how small is your town. I live in a small town. Population about 10,500 or there abouts. We do have a community center that has dances like twice a month. We also have just finished building a skate park for the kids. I am also the manager for a local bar/club with a hall we rent out. I have been renting it to local bands (kids) and they have one hell of a time there. They do the mosh pitting thing that kids do and it is a GREAT time they have. Do we have crime, YES but it is small stuff for the most part. I think your town needs to take control of these kids you speak of. They need to be put in their place so to speak. Good Luck hopefully I have given you a little help here.

That is a positive solution,. You would need to get the support of the Police and the city council for such a project to work.

Many cities need facilities aimed at the younger crowd. This is an issue in our city as well. Your idea is fantastic and you need to run with it....

unless the PARENTS of these kids want to pay for them to play games instead of doing their homework, sure, go for it.
there's plenty for the kids to do , they just don't want to do it because they think it's boring. they want excitement. and unless it's exciting and free , they won't have anything to do with it.
sorry.
it's the PARENTING. NOT the kids.
