You are right. Nothing more. Nothing less. 30 years ago the world was afflutter about global cooling ... an "ice age" was upon us. All the world's scientists were predicting gloom and doom. So just wait another 30 years and we will cool down again(new crop of scientists). But if you want a real scientific discussion go to:
http://www.ncpa.org/pub/gwm.html
PS ... Los Angeles has been trying to "adjust" their smog for over 50 years with little or no success. And for some reason we think we are capable of adjusting the atmosphere of the rest of planet Earth? What a silly notion. If you believe that I have a bridge in an Arizona desert to sell you.

Global warming is part of a natural cycle. In the past, the earth has been hotter than it is now. And it has most certainly been colder, during the ice ages for example.
Some western governments have climbed on the band wagon, and are using global warming as an excuse to raise taxes. For example, the UK government recently increase gasoline taxes - to "help save the planet".
There is an excellent discussion on this subject at:

Global warming is a natural half cycle of the cooling-warming cycles that have been going on Earth for 100's of thousand of years. What is different about this particular warming half cycle is the extent and rate of onset...both of which exceed any recorded warming period of the past. And the extreme extent and rate are the result of pollution by mankind.
According to Al Gore [See source.], this warming half cycle is headed "off the charts." This means, not only is it coming on faster than past warming periods, it is expected to go warmer than ever since life began on Earth.
And that is no scam. No legitimate scientist without a political or economic agenda refutes the overwhelming evidence of the extreme global warming that is now on us. Those who deny it are victims of an inconvenient truth.

Anyone that says......."No legitimate scientist without a political or economic agenda refutes the overwhelming evidence of the extreme global warming that is now on us."...............has a political agenda.
You can't be serious? Your only source is a former VP and Democtrat nominee for President of US. No political agenda there.
Science is based upon the debate of differing points of view. Those that desire to silence any scientist that is skeptical of global warming or those who dare ask questions, are practicing information control. It is just as Orwell predicted.
Win the debate if you are so confident of your position, don't run from it. We should encourage scientists to bring new ideas to the table, not attack them or threaten to crush them. The advance of science usually involves one scientist in the minority view, debunking the commonly held belief, the conventional wisdom, if you will. Global warming is becomming another inquisition.

I think so. Look up Milankovitch theory on cyclicity. This should cast some light or at least provide one theory. Not 'the' answer, but a possibility. Climate change follows patterns, it always will do. Global Warming may just be a simple 'warmer' cycle and nothing more.

That question is still up in the air. There is a lot of good research going on about it but the jury is still out. Best advice is be environmentally friendly and watch for realistic science to come to grips with it. But don't pay any attention to the extremists on either side of the issue. They are all a load of fruitcakes who haven't a clue.
