I just reformatted my laptop, and ever since, the PF Usage has been acting like that, and everything is so slow, how can I fix it w/o reformatting again? or what can I do?

- Try Deleting the Page File (means forcing windows not to use page file). Go to My Computer Properties > Advanced > Settings (under Performance) > Advanced > Change (under Virtual Memory) > Click the "No Paging File" > Click on Set > OK > OK > OK.
- Restarts.
- Defrag the drive. Start > Run... > Type "cmd" (w/o quotes) > OK > type "defrag C:" (w/o quotes)
- Restarts
- Turn the paging file back on, but now choose a custom paging file size, choose a small number (e.g. initial 512 MB maximum 1024 MB).

To summarize, what I've just explained is:
- Defragmenting the page File - It is very possible for the Page File to get fragmented, especially if you let Windows manage the Paging File Size.
- Use a predetermined PF size - Letting windows manage PF is something that should never be done, it makes it easy to get the PF fragmented (which slows the system performance HUGELY)
- Defragmenting the disk - Should speed up disk access a bit

did you install a firewall, or turned the xp firewall on, and antivirus and anti spyware on your laptop after formatting?
