I haven't tryed the new explorer yet and if I don't like it, I don't want to be permanently locked in to it.

I like IE7 simply because you can run multiple screens at once. At first I couldn't stand it, now it has grown on me and I'm sticking with it. You won't have to be stuck with it if you decide to try it. You can uninstall and go back to IE6 as many others have done.

There are the steps, follow the next if the problem is not solved by the first
1) run ccleaner (optional)

run the following two menus of ccleaner
cleaner > Analyze > Run Cleaner
Issues > Scan For Issues > Fix Selected Issues

2) Uninstall IE7 (If you can not uninstall it from add/remove panel)
The IE7 uninstallation goes as follows
-enable to view hidden files
(start > control panel > Folder options > View > Show hidden files and folders > apply >ok)

-click on Start > Run
type the following (ther are additional spaces after \ to make them display on this page, you can skip them while typing)

c:\ windows\ ie7\ spuninst\ spuninst.exe
press ok, Follow the on-screen instructions, after completion double-click IE to check that IE6 is working.

3) If the browser is IE6, and still has problems then run system file checker

4) Use Firefox (optional)

If you are asking from developers point of view then you've to keep both IE6 and IE7. If you are asking for normal browsing then I will say IE6 is much better than IE7.

I will highly recommend firefox for normal browsing as it is much secure than IE. Giving you speed, security, standard support and much more.

The new one is definitely more technically better than the old one, many security vulnerabilities fixed, tabbed browsing, phishing filter, and should you ever want to go back you can do so via add remove programs. Its worth a try!

the new version has its own points.
but I think "mozilla fire fox" is the best explorer.
it keeps the files u r downloading after disconnecting the internet and keep it continue when u connect again for example.

i like the tabs function. makes it much easier to have multiple web pages open as opposed to having whole new pages. you can also have more then one web page at a time as your homepage.
