I am a 32-year-old-woman, married, but no kids, but not into discos at all....I moved 2 years ago and have found 1 friend here, I am happy having found her, but still would like to have a few more friends...I honestly think I am a very nice person, cheerful, kindhearted, and even funny at times...I invited all my coworkers (5 of them) to my birthday party (after having worked there for 1,5 year in a very good atmosphere)and none of them accepted the invitation (for different reasons) I´ve given up and don´t know what to do anymore or where to meet more people...I work 50 hours per week and where I live the only activities you can do at the weekend are sports (which I hate) and as I said I don´t like discos. bars and dancing....it seems that everyone is just too busy..I don´t think I am being too selective either, I don´t care about anyone´s age/ nationality/marital status etc, although it is nicer to have smt
in common...

Well as you seem to spend most of your time at work perhaps you should persevere with the friendships there. You said they all had reasons for declining the party invitation, so it was just bad luck none of them could come. When you're not working see what other clubs or societies meet in your area, surely you aren't the only person who hates sport. Or maybe take an evening class in something that interests you. The more people you meet the more likely you are to find somebody you bond with.

I think firstly you need to reduce the number of hours you are working. 50 hours a week is over the working time directive and bad for your health. With more hours to yourself, you will at least have some time and energy to make friends. I think best to focus on what you do like to do and start form there. Maybe do some volunteer work, or join some groups, start a book club...Whatever you do, make sure you talk to everyone and drill down to the people you want to spend time with as you find out more....and maybe if you and your husband do things together this will also open doors...

wow...its nice to find someone who willingly wants to make friends. The best way to find a friend is to not go looking for one.
Friends are people you find in different circumstances or situations. Its good that you have a nice personality but dont force yourself on anyone.
Be yourself, be tactfull and enjoy
dont think of it as something you HAVE TO have...
people should be LUCKY to be your friend!

that funny I ask the same question.I"m 42 and we move three year ago hear.I talk to two naiver but ever one stag to there self.I wish i could fine a friend to go out to have coffee or shop have lunch.go to the move with .call and just bull with.I'm married but sometime it nice to have a friend to talk to.I live in wood river IL.If you live close maybe we can come friend.I live close by the high school.

talk to the one friend you have and go out just the two of you and randomly talk to people...i know its sounds goofy but it really does work!

have u watch "desperate housewives". try making friends with your neighborhood. sometimes it's just complicated. it's the way of life.
