I had a partial scholarship, school grant, loans and work-study. Your options: 1. not all scholarships are academic based, some are solely based on need 2. make sure to fill out the fafsa to see what aid u can get from the government. 3. work for a while and see if a company will pay for your schooling. 4. join the military (not a big advocate of fighting for uncle sam) but use him he uses us
5. don't be discouraged if you have to take out loans majority of people have to depending on what you study when you graduate you can apply for loan forgiveness programs.

A couple options: (1) Find a company to work for that helps with college tuition. (2) Take one or two classes at a community college and work really hard to get As and then apply for scholarships the next year. (3) Join the military--active duty or reservist--for the training and education. The military training is usually evaluated and also worth college credits if you are in a degree program. (4) Talk to a financial counselor at your community college. There may be grants available due to your parent's financial situation. (5) Do not give up. If you can show you are making an effort--it will be noted.

Two of my three children have received Pell Grants that paid for their Associates Degrees. I would recommend that if your grades weren't that great, go to a local community college and bring your GPA up, before you decide/choose to transfer. Please don't think you won't qualify for scholarships. There are all types out there that don't require great grades. Some involve family members who work at local businesses or belong to organizations or even who were tobacco farmers. Please take the time to fill out some forms and a FAFSA sheet. I guarantee you'll get the money you need.

You could go join one of thse military programs that will pay for a lot of your college expences, like the Army ROTC. Alternatively, I would suggest going to community college and applying for FAFSA money, as you may get some grants that will help you pay for college. Even if you get loans, you can pay them back later. You may have to get a job, too, to pay for college, but don't try working more than part-time while you are in college unless it is summer.
Later, after two years, you could transfer to college, though you'll likely have to get a job while you are at school too.

I'm a sophmore in high school, but I plan on paying for college with a full scholarship to any school of my choice; just hopefully they'll choose me. I'm 3rd in my class of 603 right now, so I just need to keep up my grades and stay involved in actitivities. Have you ever thought of a community college? At my high school they have a program where everyone who is in the top like 20 % of their class can go there for free.

Three years in the army gave me VA benefits. Added to that I got a job as a cook, which helped a lot as I could eat most of my meals at work. Rode a bicycle for the first couple years instead of driving.
