Can someone explain how Jade was racist please. I have been watching it and read the papers and seen the news but it all seems a big hype about nothing.
She was ignorant and bitchy (so were Jo & Danielle) but not racist.
She is of mixed race herself.
Jermaine called Jackiey & Jade 'white trash' but no one said anything. Shilpa agreed with him.
As soon as something is said to a white person it is forgotton about. Shilpa is not as innocent as shes making out and many ppl r going by wot they have read. not what they have actually seen.

Your veiws please!

To be honest, I think its absolutely ridiculous. What Is so bad about callin her shilpa poppadum ?,i wouldnt be upset or make a big deal of it, I also agree with you about what you said about racism to whites!, I think that Jade said some nasty things but really i think its a big deal over nothing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was listening on the radio and I agreed to what they said because they were saying that why has she suddenly started being nice too shilpa. They channel four producers think that she had contact with a member from the public who has been telling her all what is being said (because she wont no what has been going on) and they have told her to appoligize soon because she is in BIG trouble.

my final sentence is, big brother made jade famous and its now going to end jades fame.

I totally agree with all that you have said !!!!!!!!!!

well i think some of the things Jade said could be looked at as racist but i don't think she intentionally meant them in that way, i think she was more of a bully she seemed to have a go at everything shilpa done. But i agree with you i noticed the 'white trash' thing and nothing has been said about it, at the end of the day it is one-sided.

Jade isn't racist.
And to Dicky Snapple's forgive me for being stupid but aren't most Jews white. I am and I am a Jew and I have to say it seems to be mostly Asians who play the racist card. I have not ever been a victim of racism but if I were I am comfortable with who and what I am and I would just shrug it off not bleat on about it all the time.
Jade is of mixed race her dad was a black man. Her friend in the original big brother house was the sneaky Adelle and Jade has not been mean to Jermain.
Jade is uneducated and made some nasty remarks which she has held her hands up to and apologised for
Give the poor girl a break its Danielle who is the racist in there closely followed by Jermaine.

This whole episode is a set-up. The ratings for BB were flagging and they just thought up a way to get the audience back...now the show is hot again, a lot of people who might otherwise have switched off crowded round the telly to "see what happened" and the name is on everyone's lips. And viewers are too stupid to see they're being manipulated!
Remember the 2 people involved in this "dispute" are ACTRESSES...the publicity is all to the good, whether it be good publicity or notoriety, they just want their names and faces all over the media.

Well, the poppadom comment was racist, because it displays a very basic view of a person and a culture.
I think the reason that racism, particularly toward people who are not white, is a heavier offence than other things is because of history. By making a racist comment, you are giving credit to all the hatred and violence that has occured as a result of racism - apartheid, the holocaust etc. That is why when white people who are the victim of racism do not get so offended - because their race hasn't suffered in the same way other races have.

ignorant, but borderline rascist, jermaine jackson calling jade "white trash"(some may think this is true) you are right that is rascist.if people want to play that card about discrimination next time a prime time programme feels the need to portray a character who is either a thief, drunk or junkie a scotsman the whole of scotland should call for the programme to be axed.(that pisses me off).

Jade mocked Shilpa's accent by copying it in a really grotesque way (that's racism and bullying right there). She called her "Shilpa Poppadom" reducing Shilpa's name by linking it with a popular Indian food (racist again, even Big Brother questioned her about this in the diary room and reprimanded her).

I don't think they were. She was wrong in what she said, but that doesn't make her racist. She may not be the brightest star in our universe, but she is clearly passionate. How dare so many (especially the politicians) drag out the over used race card. Freedom of speech has been dealt another blow by the politically correct thought police

jades boyfriend, jack called shupla a p-a-k-i, and everyone laughed at it. jade made comments in the house that would offend other people.

jade made silly comments that at the time, meant in another way. shupla's chicken was uncooked and jade and clan made fun saying that it must be the way they eat chicken from where shes from. popadum was meant to be said about her background and culture in a nasty way. jade has made it wasnt racial but it has offended others.
