Sitting at the beach on Cape Cod I watched a huge storm move in over the ocean towards me. The sky was incredible as it moved in towards land, but the real drama started when it finally crashed upon me. Incredible shades of gray in the sky, sheets of rain and crashing sounds and light flashes. I only wished I had a camera with me.

I'm in australia and being summer we have had a few storms lately. I love the drama of it......... the pouring rain, the loud rumbling of thunder that sometimes goes thru you and the flash of lightning that lights up like a sun...............
We have tin roof and the rain sounds cool!!
And I dont think you could ever forget the smell............ after a hot day and a storm is coming and the first few drops of rain fall.................. mmmmm! ... :o)

I live right near Lake Superior and because of the lake there are a good deal of storms where I am...I love them. The heavy, wet snowfalls....the windy, cold snowstorms....rumbling thunderstorms....they're all humbling and beautiful.

I even run out in the streets carrying a big metal pole when there is lightening!
(Shocking good times!)

We were on my friends boat and we could see it coming and it got dark over us and pounding rain, wind and the boat was really going side to side.We were anchored in shallow water so it wasn't scary-just an incredible sight. It blew by us and then blue skies.I will never forget that.

we seldom notice the storms in the city other than the inconvenience they may bring, but at our lake home in the summer we are often awed at the power & beauty of a summer thunderstorm, they can be so destructive but it is still an orchestra that must be appreciated
