U know, they always started off with a nice story, which is mostly fake. Then they usually end it with stuff like:
If u do not send this to 10 people within an hour, your PC would eat u alive, or some ghosts would rape ur puppy at night, or some other craps that they could think of which never really did happen whether u send them or not........
Who originated these mails and why would they do it??

Hmmm. very good question- it happens to me as well. I think the creator of all these chain mails are people who are proud- proud of something they made which is spread through out. Its a bit like graffiti. When one place has been graffitised another person will do it and someone will do it. Think about it - wouldn't you like the world to know you created something which spreads faster than "bacteria"? Good question.

I hate getting these threats and I do consider them threats. I'm not sure why folks pass them on to people they care about. It makes me think they might not read the whole thing or if they do they get freaked out. I just respond by saying I would appreciate not having them send stuff like that again in the future. Most folks comply.

I've never done anything like that but have participated in forwarding on a recipe. That was kinda fun, gosh that was years back. Didn't know people still did that type of stuff.

I hate the ones"friends" send to me that say if you don't send them on something bad will happen and they have stories of people getting in freak accidents if they didn't send them.I've told my friends that what kind of a real friend would send me that but they don't listen,I still get them:(

I don't know why "friends" send them. I have even said DON'T, i won't open them, and yet they keep coming. I think people who send that crap should be shot and pizzed on. Then let them send THAT to 10 friends.

I don't usually even open chain letters, they can contain a virus and that will shut your entire system down.

lol they started many years ago .. with regular mail.. my mom used to get them when I was a kid and people seriously thought they would have bad luck if they didnt send them...
