Why when we feel compelled to shed from our eyes, do we seek to hide the tears that fall?.....

There are few things in life that are universal in any language... A laugh, a cry, a smile.... are all universal to all tongues and people on the planet.....

The emotion that is drawn from us when we shed tears is universal in any language.....

So why turn the head.... why cover the face?

Your sister,
Ginger

Well. Actually sometimes we want to convince ourselves.
We try to show ourselves that we are not weak. Although we feel weak against our feelings and our emotions, we can not win when it comes to them.
The belief which brings us to this kind of action is usually shaped from a Long time ago.
When we are simple children we are shown that crying is not something you might to in front of others. People usually think like this because they have seen such a behavior from their family.
To me crying is not a shame full action. Crying is actually a sign of emotion. It is what makes us sensitive. It also cleans the bothersome things in the eyes and makes the heavy weight of emotions weightless.
I am never ashamed of crying becuase I dont look at it as a shamefull thing.
Belive me it depends on how you look at it.

Hi Lorry... We mistakenly, (when we are younger) try to mask and hide our emotions and tears. Usually in an attempt to show our maturity and stability. As we age we discover that it really doesn't work too well. Thankfully, I evolved early enough, to let my true emotions rise to the surface and express themselves. I am an empathic caring person and believe that the world is better by letting my emotions have a reasonably free rein, (good bad or indifferent) I have found over the years it also does assist in developing your use of the many aspects of personal intuition talents in my everyday life. Regards... Haemish.

There are social stigmatisms attached to crying. It is seen as a weakness and loss of self-control in some societies. In others it is never taken serious and considered an attempt to gather unwarranted sympathy. Yet, still, in others it is seen as a sign of immaturity, because children cry when they can't get what they want, thus an adult that cries is seen as a baby.

I absolutely hate to cry, but I love the peaceful feeling that comes after it.

while you sound you value tears very much, in reality it is not healthy. its a form of immaturity of a part of the brain. not everyone fall tears to an emotions, not everyone feels the same way as the other, its the matter of maturity of the brain to understand the senses and learned to react to balance or oppose the negative forces that have to counteract for survival. FIGHT BACK!! DON'T GIVE UP

another thing that's as universal as the emotions you have mentioned is the idea that crying means weakness, it's also a moment when that person feels very vulnerable, and they don't want to show that to others.
