Why is the UNITED NATIONS HEADQUARTERS on US land(New York State)?

The land was donated to the UN by New York, before that it was a run down slum...now the area is an affluent neighbourhood, the city makes a bundle from Hotels, Restaurants and Cab fares and the taxes that is collected from those industries. The feeder businesses are astronomical.

This was a gesture on the part of the evil American empire-building military complex to share power with the rest of the world after we won WW II and rebuilt Europe and Asia nearly singlehandedly.
For all those who hate my country, you owe it to yourself and to your own soul to acknowledge our generosity. If we were truly as evil as you say, we would have nuked Moscow and taken the world. It would have been that easy.

A new yorker Donated the Land, The USA foots the Bills and puts up with the cr-ap the diplomats put out. Any other country most likely would have beheaded the lot of them........

Think about it. A "One World Government" can't function yet.
The US is made up of 54 States and territories and WE can't get along.
Could you imagine other countries all rolled in, too?
It's going to take a very powerful anitchrist type leader to rule over something like that.....

Simple, Europe was in shambles when the UN was formed. (WWII had just ended)
